Each year the FOLKS Board and critical volunteers take a one day retreat to focus on the year's progress and discuss the upcoming year. This year focused on the endowment investment, the Cane Creek cleanup, ombudsman program, water monitoring, legislative updates, and the Lake Friendly Landscape project.

The retreat concluded with a tour of Duke's Bad Creek pump storage facility. Upon commands from the Charlotte this facility can quickly add or subtract & store electricity from the grid.
